Meet the Team

Our team is built on the belief that fitness is better when you can show up exactly as you are. No pressure to be anything other than yourself--just a space where you're supported, challenged, and celebrated.

Our coaches don't just lead workouts-- they create connection. They meet you where you're at, push you when you need it, and remind you that you're capable of more than you think. We believe strength looks different on everyone, and that's exactly what makes this community so powerful.

Because here, it's not about doing it alone.

We're stronger together.

Kaighla Ridge

Founder & Instructor, reps & bootcamp

Kaighla has always believed in the power of movement-- but for a long time, she didn't realize its true impact. As a former athlete, she was no stranger to training. She knew how to lift, how to push her body, and how to compete-- but after high school, she lost her way. The structure and identity that sports had given her disappeared, and she found herself searching for something more.

In 2012, Kaighla made a commitment to rebuild herself-- mind, body, and spirit. But it wasn't until 2018, when she reluctantly walking into a group fitness class, that she truly understood what movement could do. The music, the energy, and the collective strength in that room shook her to her core. In the middle of it all, she cried. For the first time in a long time, she felt seen, heard, and empowered.

That moment changed everything.

Kaighla realized fitness wasn't just about lifting weights or chasing aesthetics-- it was about connection, belonging, and finding strength beyond the physical. It was about creating a space where people feel safe to show up exactly as they are, push past their limits, and grow together.

Today, that belief is at the heart of what Kaighla brings to Refuge. She is passionate about helping others discover their own strength while creating an environment where everyone feels supported, encouraged, and empowered to become more than they thought possible.

Shannon Hertello

Instructor , bootcamp

Shannon grew up playing team sports and has always loved the energy and connection that comes from working towards something together. After college, she found that same sense of community in group fitness-- and has been hooked ever since. Becoming a coach has been a goal of hers for over 10 years, and she's excited to now be part of that experience for others.

Her classes are all about creating a space where people feel supported, challenged, and empowered. Expect loud music, high energy, and a push to be your strongest self-- both physically and mentally-- but also a reminder to have fun, laugh, and not take it all too seriously.

Shannon believes fitness is more than just a workout-- it's an act of self- respect. It's about showing up for yourself, building confidence, and celebrating everything your body is capable of. Her goal is to help you leave class feeling stronger, more confident, and ready to take that energy into your life outside the studio.
